Between Auki and my previous job, I’ve been involved with community engagement for over 12 years.
And though my role as part of the developer relations team is still new, I have quite a few ideas inspired by past experiences to empower and grow our developer community.
I’ve also been part of a handful of Web3 communities these past few years, some full of builders, so I’ve made some connections there and picked up a few things about community fostering that can be applied here.
Having worked on various tech endeavors throughout my career, my approach to software engineering is generally, “Sure, I’ll learn how to do that. Why not?”
None of the technical milestones listed above were things I knew how to do before joining Auki, but they were interesting and fun to learn.
So far, helping with community engagement hasn’t entailed spending excessive time hanging out on Discord; it only takes a few minutes at a time here and there between other tasks.
And since women are naturally more gifted than men at multitasking, jumping back and forth is easy. ;) Jokes aside, I’m grateful to our new team member Chris and moderators Kevin and Justin for recently stepping up on the community engagement front! Being able to count on them to handle most of it means I can jump in only when convenient.
It’s impossible, especially on the AI side of things! But no one else can keep up with everything, so I choose new things to learn about and try out.
I’m also fortunate to be part of a world-class team of engineers here at Auki; just listening to their updates and working with them levels up my skills and knowledge every day.
Recently, Nils shared with the Developer Relations team that a prospective backer once passed on Auki because it’s notoriously difficult to build and maintain a successful SDK that achieves widespread adoption and has a thriving developer community around it. So that is the biggest challenge we face as a DevRel team.
Having only taken on this challenge a little over a month ago, I can’t say it’s been “addressed” already, but the plan is to put out a steady stream of content that’s not only helpful and inspiring for developers but also fun enough that social media algorithms will like it.
We’ll engage with creative agencies, event organizers, recognizable brands, and universities to create compelling shared AR experiences and educate.
We also planned some events and incentives for developers, so stay tuned!
Having diverse interests means I’m always chasing new and different experiences.
That has naturally boosted my creativity, and applying creativity with a certain amount of whimsy to problem-solving has always served me well.
It makes everything more fun and interesting, and I’m much better at doing fun and interesting tasks than I am at doing boring ones.
Auki is building the posemesh, a decentralized machine perception network for the next 100 billion people, devices and AI on Earth and beyond. The posemesh is an external and collaborative sense of space that machines and AI can use to understand the physical world.
Our mission is to improve civilization’s intercognitive capacity; our ability to think, experience and solve problems together with each other and AI. The greatest way to extend human reach is to collaborate with others. We are building consciousness-expanding technology to reduce the friction of communication and bridge minds.

The Posemesh is an open-source protocol that powers a decentralized, blockchain-based spatial computing network.
The Posemesh is designed for a future where spatial computing is both collaborative and privacy-preserving. It limits any organization's surveillance capabilities and encourages sovereign ownership of private maps of personal and public spaces.
The decentralization also offers a competitive advantage, especially in shared spatial computing sessions, AR for example, where low latency is crucial. The posemesh is the next step in the decentralization movement, responding as an antidote to the growing power of big tech.
The Posemesh has tasked Auki Labs with developing the software infrastructure of the posemesh.
