Crafting the Aukiverse: John Skalin’s Role as Auki Labs Head of Ecosystem and Tokenomics

Enter into the world of John Skalin, Auki Labs’ Head of Ecosystem and Tokenomics—a serial entrepreneur whose more than twenty-year journey through the realms of eCommerce, sourcing, and production has culminated in the visionary development of the Aukiverse's economic landscape.

With a seasoned hand, John orchestrates the intricate dance of production and distribution that breathes life into the physical products, grounding Auki Labs' innovative universe.

As we share the evolution of John Skalin, you'll learn how his entrepreneurial acumen and forward-thinking help propel Auki Labs into a new era where the digital and physical converge seamlessly. Through his leadership, the Auki token is poised to become more than just a utility—it's set to be the lifeblood of an evolving digital-physical reality, the Aukiverse.

How has your entrepreneurial background, especially in eCommerce, sourcing, and production, shaped your approach to managing the Auki Labs ecosystem?

I started my first company at 19, and now, 20 years later, having founded more than 10 companies in Sweden, China, and Japan, I’ve been responsible for countless product and service offers and deal structures in different industries.

I believe a deal structure approach to token economy design is the correct angle of attack.

With a clear product and user focus, understanding what incentivizes users to participate in a desirable way and aligning their interests has been a challenging and interesting problem to solve.

What strategies are you implementing to ensure a robust and sustainable growth of the Aukiverse ecosystem?

A strong BD team with a healthy marketing budget to drive demand for the network service and continuous incentivization to the community infrastructure providers.

What initiatives are in place to encourage the adoption of the Auki token and engagement in the Aukiverse?

We have a substantial token allocation (20% of the total supply) set aside for ecosystem rewards that, among other things, will incentivize builders to create shared AR experiences leveraging the unique possibilities that the posemesh tech stack offers.

How are tokenomics and ecosystem growth shaped in light of current and potential regulatory frameworks?

From day one, we have made every decision to be ready for the highest level of regulatory scrutiny. The web3 industry is an evolving space with lots of regulatory challenges, so we have put a lot of effort and resources into making sure that we’re ready and well-advised to meet these challenges.

The most mature regulatory framework for crypto in the world currently is Canton Zug in Switzerland, which is why we went there, partnering with one of the most experienced Swiss law firms in the web3 space.

100% of our backers have been KYC’d, and we have a thorough memorandum of classification that certifies that our token is a utility token.

Regulatory risk is a big concern for projects that do not have a clear utility, but we have clear utility from day one.

What differentiates Auki Labs' ecosystem and tokenomics from competitors in the blockchain space?

The utility of our token is not something that will come at a later stage; it’s there from day one.

The posemesh network's service has been built for over 2 years by an R&D-focused team and solves the biggest problem in spatial computing today, shared augmented reality. The network itself is currently running; in a sense, it’s been in the testnet phase for a while.

The posemesh network has over 300 nodes as of November 2023.

The tokenomics have been designed to reward the workers in the network, which provides the physical infrastructure, enabling the network to provide this service to the apps that run on the posemesh.

Our proprietary burn-credit-mint design offers price predictability and hides the complexity of crypto from the app developers, who generally are not very keen to interact with a token.

What technological advancements are you most excited about, and how might they impact the ecosystem you're building?

Spatial computing is arguably one of the biggest technological advances of humankind.

The transition from PC to mobile had a massive effect on nearly every industry, and the transition from mobile to spatial, meaning that we look through our devices rather than at them, is an evolution of language.

This will allow humans to reach a greater level of understanding of each other, and it will be a tool to manifest our ideas and creativity in the minds of others more easily than ever before.

Once the devices we use evolve from the small handheld looking glasses of our phones into the wearable era, we will live big parts of our lives in augmented reality.

It goes without saying that the technology that facilitates the next big leap in language and communication needs to support shared applications.

I’m excited about this big leap and am extra excited to play for the winning team that doesn’t rely on digital twins and sending user camera data off-device to obtain an accurate pose.

About Auki Labs

Auki is building the posemesh, a decentralized machine perception network for the next 100 billion people, devices and AI on Earth and beyond. The posemesh is an external and collaborative sense of space that machines and AI can use to understand the physical world.

Our mission is to improve civilization’s intercognitive capacity; our ability to think, experience and solve problems together with each other and AI. The greatest way to extend human reach is to collaborate with others. We are building consciousness-expanding technology to reduce the friction of communication and bridge minds.

About the posemesh

The Posemesh is an open-source protocol that powers a decentralized, blockchain-based spatial computing network.

The Posemesh is designed for a future where spatial computing is both collaborative and privacy-preserving. It limits any organization's surveillance capabilities and encourages sovereign ownership of private maps of personal and public spaces.

The decentralization also offers a competitive advantage, especially in shared spatial computing sessions, AR for example, where low latency is crucial. The posemesh is the next step in the decentralization movement, responding as an antidote to the growing power of big tech.

The Posemesh has tasked Auki Labs with developing the software infrastructure of the posemesh.
